[20 KG]

Was told by my Jpn colleague to go to Sim Lim to buy 20 BETACAM SP 90 min tapes and 30 BETACAM SX 30 min tapes. I got her namecard, realised she is a prgm manager for sports. Walked in the hot sun to SLS. I managed to find the shop. I thot I was able to get everything but after checking, I realised the 30 min tapes were the ones that I needed to buy. They were the SP not SX. (I dunno what's the big difference anyway)

I paid the full amt oredi, cos I nv knew that the shop did not have the 30 min SX tapes. After some clarification, the 30 min tapes were returned and I was glad they were. I went with the sales person to collect the 20 pcs of 90 min SP tapes from the store. The moment I carried them, I was glad that the 30 min tapes were not available. These 2 boxes were heavy! One box is 9KG, so 2 boxes are 18KG + my back pack. The 20 pcs of 90 min SP tapes costed almost $900. I was given S$2000 cash in S$50 notes in an envelope. It is one thick stack of cash.

And also I think I was stupid. I actually lugged this 18KG of shit ard SLS asking all possible shops which might be carrying the 30 min SX tapes. I should have asked ard first, then buy the 90 min SP tapes. Come to think of it 18KG is not that much, right. But supporting them with 2 hands holding some thin plastic bag is not helping much. In fact, I was so tired carrying these 2 boxes, I was literally walking a few meters before stopping to rest. 18KG is not heavy if u carry standing still, if u are like holding 2 packets of 10kg rice with one in a plastic bag in one hand and moving ard...

Anyway, the weather was not helping. My head was glittering with beads of sweat like a diamond studded sphere. It was so fucking hot. It rained tho in the morning when I reached Bugis. Besides the tapes, I was told to get a printer and a prepaid card for some guest who is coming for the IOC. The tapes are for the IOC.

My Jpn colleague later gave me another S$300 for the printer and pre paid card. I bought this Canon i1000 for $89 but then the receipt was written as $99. So what is going on?

Since I had so much free time n freedom after lunch, I even walked to Bugis's Shaw Cinemas to take a rest on the benches there before going to Sim Lim. The weather was not good, the sun was SHINING and it was drizzling..no wonder I feeling like having a cold now. Well, not complaining..it is a job which I hope i can have a good career in.

Hot cold hot cold not hot not cold...Can e weather get any worse?

My boss going to Malaysia for 2 days. whahhahaha

[new workplace=another new me?]

It was almost exactly 1 month ago when I FO from my ex company. Slacked at home for abt 3 weeks before landed myself in this current job. Slacking at home does have its perks..but sometimes sheer boredom can drive me nuts. Not to mention the "chants" of my mum.

Surprisingly I cld wake up this morning early enough. I am glad the coffee effect had died down. I will try not to touch coffee again. ahha. Washed up, had breakfast, ran to toilet cos my shit was screaming to get out HWHHAHAHAHA. The one thing i like was the casual wear. For the past 3 jobs I was required to wear formal office wear which I initially hated but gradually got used it.

Monday morning did not appear as blue as I always thot. It was just hot. I was told to come at 10am. As usual being the directional idiot, I decided to leave earlier and I reached office at 9.40. It is quite abit of walking distance from Bugis and until now I have no idea on alighting on which station will be nearer. I guess it is more or less the same.

I met the Japanese colleague, oke not as young as I thot.haha..She can speak quite good English but the accent is a mix of American and Japanese. There is another technical guy but he was not ard. Oh yeah, my boss asked me if I cld understand the Jpn colleague conversation with some company this evening. I helped him to translate and he jokingly asked me to be his spy. hahahahaa.

There was some minor discussions on what I should do and then I carried out the assigned task. Sorting out 600+ contact list is not easy task when I have to do it in OUTLOOK!!!! Windoz really sux. The stupid Outlook crashed countless times when I was trying to export the contact list with 600+contacts in it. I was lucky to have another colleague to help me out. Using OL was lethargic since it was accessing some data all e way from Geneva.

I lunched alone since I could not make it in time for lunch with an ex-colleague of mine who was working in Shaw Tower as well. The food was not exactly cheap, one chap chai peng with a fried drumstick, omelette and curry veg=$4. The serving was large enough for 2. The omelette covered like half my plate.hahaha.

I hope this job will be a stepping stone for my career. As in, I hope I get to stay long in this job. What's a real man without a career? Tio boh !?!

[muahahahahha]

Woke up at 7.45am in the morning to prepare myself for 2 interviews. One is at the agency and the other is at the company which engaged the agency (as said in prev entry). As usual, overslept by 10 min and therefore rushed out of my house. It was drizziling. -.-

However I managed to reach the agency at a decent time. I HATE to be late. One of the reason was that I used to be late for appointments until one close friend told me off. So here I am, 99.9% of the time punctual. hehehe..International Plaza is infamous for job agencies. God knows how many similar agencies are there located in that building alone. Went in, was told to fill in some forms...sian, I hate filling forms.

Soon after, the lady came to tok to me and she seemed to be quite new. As I was not quite sure of the exact location of the company, she even printed me a map. To me a direction idiot, maps are not too useful. Anyway, I took a cab when I realised I was walking in circles in City Hall area. >_>

The moment I stepped into the company, I was impressed by the office setup. No partitions, no small walls, everything is flat and open. Nice computer tables and chairs. Too bad they are not using Macs. Oh yeah the position is actually someone to assist the Managing Director. We had nice long conversation, pretty standard qns and some briefings on the responsibilitie of this position. The company altho has a small headcount but the events its undertaking are huge. Annual revenues are in tens of millions. I was !OoO! The staff are international, there is one Jpn lady working there and maybe some ang mohs?

Then suddenly, he asked me if I am able to come to work tml!!!! I was !O_O! Then come to the issue of $$$ (most important issue apparently), my expectation was $1500 or $1400. Then he pondered for awhile and said "$1700" I was double !!O_O!! Working hours, Mon-Fri 9.00am to 5.00/6.00pm. I was O_o. He explained that time is very flexible, I can go at 5.00 or 6.00. Until now I am still confused on what time I can leave? Maybe 5.30pm? :D Lunch time, he said time is flexible as well, I can go anytime I wan and I can come back anytime I wan. Again I was o_O. Anyway, its obvious U cannot go lunch at 1.00 and return at 3.00 then go off at 5.00 right. I asked him abt office dress code and he answered, casual, tees jeans all oke. No need for shirts and pants.

I wil work there for 3 months first, then if I m suitable or what, I should be working as perm.

I will be sitting in front of the MD. Like that how to MSN?!?!?!

When I got back and was showering, I began to realise there is actually no "ideal" job. As long, the company is paying u regularly and have fairly reasonable treatment. What's there to complaint? Right?

[Interviews]

My 1st interview after bumming at home since 25th May. The venue OUB Center. Its easier to find than I thot.ahahahha.."such a prominent place, how could anyone missed it", say my close friend. The company is quite a nice place,in fact is a front shop where customers can come in anytime they like to collect their photos. My interview is for position of digital imaging assistant.

1st impression : no Macs. Doing photos printing without the accuracy color proofing of a Mac? Oh well, mayb its juz printing not much of a editing is done. I saw several young men and women working at their stations. Office is not that quiet with the machinery churning out noises behind.

The interview went oke, pretty standard qns. Guess I am "experienced" enough to anticipate all that. I did not do much preparations like when I was a green grad outta of NS. The interview was held at a small meeting room with stacks of photos on the table, one laptop and two 1GB CF cards in a plastic bag on the table. The phone rang 2-3 times during the interview tho. They need somone who is keen in photography, video shooting. Much of the work for this position will involve photography and video shooting. AND the killer point is they actually need someone who knows HTML cos they need to expand their website. Working hours is fine.

I did not have much hope for this position cos they need someone versed in HTML.

Tml there will be 2 more interviews. One is at an agency and the other is the company which engaged the agency. Its some media executive position for European Broadcasting Union. Sound impressive eh? hehehehe. The agency lady called me when I was rushing to get dressed up. When she told me its for European Broadcasting Union, I was like "woah..." haha. She gave me a website (i think local version). Upon seeing the website, the initial "woah" became "duh" HWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Believe it or not, I spoke to my long lost pri sch classmate last night. I found her on Friendster, she's engaged to some guy frm my Sec School. Lucky guy, haa. I could not recognise her at all! I rem she looked like this in pri school, then I saw her again when I was in sec school, she looked almost the same, now she looked like a totally different person! I could tell it was her from her age, her horoscope sign and from the schools she went to.

then I saw another classmate, she was a small, dark and feebly looking gal in pri school. She looked so different!!! WHY?! In Friendster I managed to find 3 ex- pri classmates. I only manage to recognise one gal only. hahahaha..If they rem me, Im sure they r wondering how come this guy ballooned so much. WHAHAHAHHAHAHA. Its 13 yrs since we parted our ways after PSLE...13 yrs..We are all 25 now and seemingly most are getting enaged.

[Food & Beauty]

Nowdays beauty products come with all sorts of everyday food included. I think it started with green tea. After huger coverage on the news on how green tea can benefit one's health due to its strong anti-oxidant properties, U see green tea in shampoo. toothpaste, soap, facial wash,drinks,ice-cream and almost every shit out there has green tea.

Now there's another stuff, yoghurt! The healthy creamy fermented milk is now used in shampoo! I rem silk being used, pearls, soybeans and now yoghurt.

Now there is VINEGAR!

So what's next? apple? orange? banana? durian? dark soy sauce?

ahhahahahaha

[25 and nothing]

From friendster, I see one of my close friends who just ROM with his pretty wife. He just got promoted and now got himself a pretty wife. Then I look ard, it seems quite a number of the people I knew are either getting married or ROM-ed or going to ROM soon. Then I look at the fat, pimpled face fat primate with a bulging belly person in front of the mirror and a feeling of loss,helpless-ness and a myriad assortments of "feelings" swelled up my empty brain.

I thought to myself, "So wtf have I been doing? 25,outta job, never held a job long enough, unsettled,so unaccomplished, childish, selfish, obnoxious, poor, fat, bad tempered, got a gf but her family hate me to the core cos I exposed their dirty deeds etc etc"

Currently doing my portfolio, so even if I manage to get a designer job, will I be able to keep the job long enough? What is causing me to be so unsettled, to be so unsatisfied, so not willing to settle down..so much like a kite wanting to break the string which is anchoring it to the ground.

So...what should I do? And what do I want?
