[the gift exchange]

Once in awhile, i will venture outta my shell to go out to town or to meet friends. So I did yesterday to a faraway city called Vivocity in Front of a Habour. People I met are from the land of flowers, namely Naruto, Virgo, The Fly and later a Fairy from the Moon. The Fly was late (settling some shit? eating some shit? =D ) and was holding on the tickets for the movie called The Compass which is Golden. Anyway somehow she managed to fly here on time and we were not late for the show.

Honestly the show kinda sucked, acting of the little 13YO gal was probably one of the highlights besides the gorgeous Nicole Kidman and the good computer animation. Terms such as 'dust' does not seem to connect to me. Reviews of this show and the boycotting from major churches around the world of this movie is kinda absurd. The GV theatre is a freezer btw, meant to keep the ice cubes in ur drink solid and also an attempt to make ice from the water in ur bottle and urine in ur bladder.

Dinner was @ this odd restaurant called Olives and Fig, which does not really serves olives and figs but rather dry meat (overcooked) and dry mesh potatoes and pepper sauce with a weird taste among other dishes. Chicken is an rare item cos the pc of chicken meat for me is so small I can finish in about 5 mouthfuls. The 3 or is it 4 icecream worth scoops of mesh potato is so dry it can absorb 10 gallons of water, gravy. The plates were decorated with shreds of leaves which has a name. Fishes were a plenty though. Service-wise not too bad. oh well. We had our gifts exchanges there.

Vivocity is not as crowded as I expect it to be or is it the place is just too spacious? Anyway saw some nice Zara shoes, bags, clothes which I will probably buy once my pay is banked in hehehe. Zara clothing always have this aura of classic feel yet contemporary feel to it. I do feel the price tags are justified to the quality of their fabrics and workmanship.

The day ended @ Starbucks with some chatting.

Oh, my gift was a GAP memo/organiser! hehe. thanks Fly.

[xmas]

yay xmas is coming! and i see the new yr coming too.

xmas is supposed to be a jolly season, who can share this jolly season with me? There is a church play though, hope I will go and take a look. 2008, hope to have a new start for everything, new bag, new shoes, new clothes, ok i got a new phone haha.

and so it is. nowadays friends are too busy for anything else. And since the sch and festive season is here, going out on wkends to town is a totally bad idea as the streets will be mobbed with kids and adults carrying 1 million shopping bags with painted faces. I wonder why some people like noise and crowds so much.

[and it is....]

Nothing much been going on. Work is as it is, never ending. As for other things, things are bland. Other things are not worth mentioning. Bosses are away overseas but of cos work dun end. But of cos the atmosphere is more relaxing haha. Actually I do not have much recollection of what happened the past week during work cos it is mundane and nothing worth mentioning.

Anyway my xmas present for this yr was a Nokia 6500 classic! I got it for $98 hehehe. Right it is after a $200 trade in of my W880i and 1 more extension of Classic100 Singtel. I was quite skeptical over Nokia phones ever since the N series which I thought were expensive, poor built, laggy response and expensive. Anyway the 6500c is different, I love the metallic built and how sturdy it feels in my hand. The built is pretty solid like my W880i.

I went to take a look at the phone @ Chong Pang on Sat. Was told by the shop guy that this is not a 3G phone!, said what this only got 3G downloading speed and all. So this held me back abit, I bought my nasi lemak and went home to check. Anyway 6500c is a 3G phone but it cannot do video calls because it does not have a 2nd cam. But if I were to go Jpn, it wun be a problem cos it supports 3G network. So that is it la, I went down again to purchase the phone haha and I paid $98 for it.

Well, Im actually quite a basic user, I only make calls and sms and I only call home? haha since no one calls me or sms me nowadays. Sometimes I do wonder is there really a need for me to have a mobile line since people probably will not notice anything i ever MIA online. So far the phone is ok, quite easy to get used to it esp the sms. I did use a Nokia 6510 before and I thought it was a good phone. Back then (2002), Nokia phones were the de facto standard. For 6510, the battery life was amazing and I was using it for a yr before I traded it in for SE T610. The speaker for 6500c is surprisingly good! sooooo much better than the feeble sound of the W880i. There is actually depth to the ringtone and msn tones where else the W880 sounds terrible with high screechy pitches.

Still I do not understand why there is a need for handphones these days to have so many functions. But I hope this 6500C will serve me well, until I get a official Asian iPhone hopefully next yr. haha.

[food poisoning]

It has been a rough week.

Day 0 (wed)
Poor me had lormee on Wed for lunch and in the lormee were some meat which had gone bad (they had a weird taste) but I swallowed them too fast. End result: food poisoning. The poison did not take effect immediately. I even went for my hair cut appointment in Kallang. My stomach began to feel unwell while I was in the salon I think but got worse when I was going home which was ard 8+pm. When I got home, I immediately went to to toilet to release. It was all watery stools, like some soup, everything just came out like a gush of water.

Feeling queasy, I knew something is not right since something similar happened 3 years back. I had no appetite whatsoever, even my mum had prepared dark soy sauce pork for dinner. So I had nothing that night so I was feeling weak after having runs to the toilet several times. I took some of the old diarrhea medicine I had, it did help a little.

Day 1 (thurs)
The next day I went to see a doctor. After waiting for almost an hour, it was my turn. I was given 4 types of pills. The doctor said it is not food poisoning but stomach flu. Stomach flu is caused by rotavirus. Anyway to me it is the same cos rotavirus can be found in unclean food. Shit continued to be free flowing like soup. I had totally no appetite and no energy to eat. All I had was 1 cup of milo, half a slice of cake.

Day 2 (fri)
I felt a little better but stomach was bloated and alot of gas. Still weak nevertheless, anyway I went back o the clinic to get more med and extend one more day of MC. In the afternoon, I felt a little better and I even ate a little rice for lunch. But still not much of an appetite later on in the evening. Was feeling super cold in the night ard 9+, I was shivering! I had to wear a jacket and 2 t-shirts inside! Had a very disturbing dream which lasted for dunno how many hours and had me woken up in sweat. The dream was like some big RPG game. After I woke up ard 1+am, I was online for awhile before I went back to slp again. I was in a half asleep, half dreaming awake state.

Day 3 (sat)
Woke up with very aching limbs which felt as if they just went for a 10hrs gym session. Only had milo and oat cereals for the entire day and i did not even feel hungry.

Day 4(sun)
Limbs still aching in the morning, appetite returned.

During these 4 days of being ill, i did not just sleep only. I also realised quite a bit of things. I have learnt to appreciate people who really care from the bottom of my heart, I have learnt to see things or see people not just from their appearances, I have learnt not to be taken in so easily from a person's facade. I have also learnt that health still matters most, be it mental or physical health. I have learnt to take things easy cos alot of things cannot be done my way esp on matters of the heart.

I hope I can keep all these in mind.
