The holy Wii (+ Zelda, Twilight Princess) : as stated by the game shop boss cos this is a totally non-modified Jpn set.
Got my Wii last Tuesday,IIRC. I rem on that day I was in a daze, very drained out. I made the mistake of alighting @ Cityhall station. It was so darn packed with commuters and those tards were not willing to shift their arses to the middle of the car. The game shop located in AMK Hub was quite packed as usual, good business it seems to be enjoying. This little thing is so much lighter compared to the 7KG PS3 I bought last month.
Setting up this thing was quite easy, tho it took me sometime to figure out what is my Wii code hahaha. This is a 16 number code where people can add u onto their friends list. So far I added a few but only 1 accepted zzzzz. The control also needs a little getting used to. The packaging is rather nice. There are 2 trays inside which house the different parts, the Wii itself, the Wii mote, the nunchaku, the sensor bar, AV composite cable, adaptor (cant be used in sg due to diff voltage but I got another stepdown for local use anyway), the stand for Wii, one transparent disc for the stand.
Im glad everything works well, I manage to surf various Wii channels, like weather report, Jpn news, Wii shopping channel etc. Internet connection is ok too. I was a little worried cos I read that there r some routers which are not compatible wif Wiis. I really cannot understand WHY tho. Placing the sensor bar below my tv is more responsive I find, since I m sitting down most of the time to play.
Started playing Zelda Twilight Princess seriously for the last 2 nights. This game is fun! This morning I tried fishing ..the most fun part is that u really need to move ur Wii mote as if it is a fishing rode to hurl the fish out of the water! But the fighting part does need some time to get used to because all i need to do is to shake e wii mote for slashing or shake e nunchaku to do all round slash. Well Wii dun have the best graphics or anything that is on par with PS3 or xbox360 but the fun in its games certainly makes up to it. PS3 is quite close to it with its 6axis controller. I was using e controller like a driving wheel in Motorstorm. Anyway I ordered another fun game from HMV Jpn which is a must get for Wii owners; Wii Sports. I think it will arrive either tml or Tues.
I think it is a good alternative to have fun and do some workout at home since u wil need to emulate all the moves of the actual sport itself (tennis, golf, bowling,boxing). Another game I having eyes on is paper mario. Seems like a fun game too. There are other innovative games like Cooking Mama, Dragon Ball etc. Another thing good abt Wii is its Virtual Console, where u can download nostalgic games from the 80s to early 90s gaming consoles. They have Bare Knuckles and Altered Beast! Wah lao, they bring back so much fond memories of my pri sch days. Not to forget there's also Golden Axe, Castlevania. Well all games downloads come at a cost of course. Definitely cheaper than the catridge of the good old days.
Yes the good old days, where there's no fancy 3D gfx (which makes my head spin sometimes and getting lost in the game), where game developers spent more time in making the games fun than to create eye candy, where it is always a thrill on play the game, a thrill just to turn on the machine and see the logo appear on TV, the thrill just when the game is starting.

The TV was fixed in a jiffy, service was not bad as reported. They replaced a data cable which was attached to the lcd panel which was claimed to be the cause of the funky shades of colors. Anyway the tv operated like normal again when the servicemen arrived. Things are ok for now, so it seems.
Yes, I did it again. I have placed an order for my 2nd BD present for myself. It is the Jpn Wii! Hope to collect it tml with a game or so. Will update pics hehehehehehe
