Tml i will starting at my new work place. I am will be "interacting" with Japanese and so I will be using Japanese quite often. I certainly hope my limited Japanese will be put to good use. I wil installing a Jpn dictionary on my system, if any. HAHAHAHA

I just hope I will be able to get my PowerMac with this job. I dun dare to dream of anything more.

What make people to turn to religion? Be it Christianity, Buddism. Or rather what makes seemingly free-thinkers to turn to religion? Troubles? Worries?

I do not know if I am slipping into depression,anxiety once more as recently I am showing some signs of eating disorder. Eating to me is a way of temporaily disconnecting myself from the messed up world around me, it allows me to focus my senses to the food and not to the whatever is going around in the world, in my flat, in Singapore. I seem to be eating too much.

This is esp true if I go to buy lunch, I will tend to think that this packet of something is not enough for me, I NEED to get something else. Eg, during the Sundays when my mum have to work, I need to settle my own lunch. So in the late morning, I will go to Chong Pang Marketto buy vegetarian beehoon ( its good) and another packet of char kway tiao ( which is good too.)

If I eat chicken rice, I will add another small bowl of rice + additional roast pork or whatever is aviailable. But then I will not do that if I buy mixed veg rice from the kopitiam nearby, then again, I will add more rice if I order from other stores.

I used to have so much in my mind that now I simply want everything or most things to be kept to a bare minimum. I simply dun have the strength to muster enough effort to make an effort to do something which I deem as unnecessary. I do not like things to be done the long way. If something can be resolved in the simplest manner, then I will choose to do it. Sometime I am simply too tired to do anything, even when I am doing nothing.

Nothing seems to matter anymore. Sometimes I do get some perks like intending to get comics, cds...but if I do not do it in that spur of moment, I will simply chuck in somewhere in my mind, buried and hidden. It does not matter, anymore, simply.

But I guess I am still holding on to some parts of reality as I still will go to Gorgeous Hair Studio for nice hair cut and the only thing which is keeping my focus dead on is..........to get a computer which will be a dual 64bit computer which wil not run on windows which will not run on Intel processors which is not too cheap but is damn fast and high tech.

It is the Apple's PowerMac G5 Dual Processor 1.8Ghz model. HWHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH~

Scenario :

A designer went with small boss to meet a big boss of a big client of their company. It is s Group, "ji tuan" and has many other subsidaries. Inside the meeting room, there were the managers and the big boss.

During the meeting, due to unknown factors, small boss said something like "u can remove the style sheets for the webpages, it is not a problem.." designer said to small boss "no, cannot..." Big boss of the client said to small boss, " if u ask the designer to do a website without style sheets, she will cry..."

Then came the Flash thing, small boss said, "u can just supply us with the JPEGS to make the flash, it is not a problem..." Big boss said, " No no...u shld not use JPEGS, we will supply u with the (vector graphics) created from Freehand"

Can u imagine how embarassing it is? The big boss,CEO of a group with hundreds of employees know what is needed to create a website, even to the extend of what kind of files created by what prgm. YET, the small boss of a website, e-commerce,internet,hosting company (less than 10 employees) do not know some of the basics stuff of one of his most important employees.

What does it show? Will u have confidence in a company where the boss do not understand what his employees are doing? It is like doing sales, will u have confidence in a salesperson or his products when he does not even know what is he selling or how his product work?

Bad news for my dream of getting a mac - I have been AXED! AHAHHAAH. "as u know the company is not doing too well for the time being, I hate to do this but I have no choice, I hope u understand...." sounds all too familar right?

Well although I been at my present company for like 4 months+, I practically know how the company is run. Client wants A, boss thinks client wants B, boss tells designer/developer to do C, product C given to client who wanted A,client is pissed on why C is given when he wanted A. Boss managed to pacify client with honeyed words and it goes all over and all over again. It is a vicious cycle. All these exra work will pile up, projects get delayed, payment get delayed and things just dun work out when at the begining, all can be so simple and straight like a --------------- line.

So I will be leaving officially on the 22/12/04, 3 days before Christmas. HAHA. I will be passing on my work to my designer colleague who is buried in her work. She is handling 3 persons' work load, so when I leave, she will be doing 5 persons' work as currently I am doing 2. This is prob the worst scenario any designer can get and is my main reason why I do not want to touch on design related work. Only a minority of designers in SG can respected for their effort,creativity,talents and professionalism. Most of the peasant bosses or other people see designers as graphic-whore.

It is no suprise when people said the creative industry in SG is appauling. Creative industry=media,print,internet,TV commercials which some are really the pits. Eg, the latest Canadian Pizza CM shown on Central at 10pm onwards. It is done on a 1990s home video cam. Some of the classics are Sunpage IDD, Wayway washing powder.

Nothing much ever stand out, nothing much exciting.

I will not say designers are "elite" or what. But they tend to be more "sophiscated" or more MODERN in their thinking because they are more exposed to ang moh idealogies and concepts and thinking. They tend to think out of the box and have different tastes from the common people. Designers or designed trained people are more like Apple's Macintosh, while the commoners are like Windows PC. Well not a good analogy but I cant think of any better. haha

Its a oke week at work. Except to deal with some pesky clients who wanted to make X amt of changes to their pathetic website. It is only 1 simple page and it took me like a week to finish the update becos the client want to change the font size, text layout, font color, font size n font size n font size. their webpage prob dun cost more than S$500 but like all peasants-alike business people, they will make sure they will ask us to do all sorts of changes to make them feel whatever amt they spent worthwhile.

Finally ploughed through mundane work until Fri, was looking forward to a nice dinner at home but 2 bitches on the bus spoilt it. There was this mum with her daughter, apparently the daughter stepped on something, ( a plastic pen case, i happened to step on it too) and asked a elderly lady if it was hers (I think) then the old lady began to scold this little gal for no reason, soon the mum retaliated by scolding back the old lady. I think this old lady is mentally abit senile and the mum actually asked her if she was just out of Woodbridge. Oh before that I was annoyed with one tall Chi-na looking young man who stay rooted to at the bus entrance.

Asians are a rowdy lot. Most have no manners and are uncultured,uncouth and rude. Well this speaks true esp for those peasants who just crawl out from their 3rd world countries. Sad to say homeland SG is also full of these peasants. A good indication is those people who dislike ipod and prefer to opt for something cheapo like the creative series of players.

Wait, the new Zen Micro is not a cheapo hor!!!! It costed $539 leh!!!!! for 5GB, FM radio (WOOOWW~!!), voice recording (WAAAAHH~!!) and got 10 different colors eye catching plastic finishes which look like your son's toy calculator! WOAOWOAHHAHAHAHAAAAAA~~~

For a similar price I can have an 20GB IPOD, to hell with the recording and FM Radio. As least they some useless features to me. these features are only a lure for typical Singaporeans. To be fair the ipod is not perfect, 1st of all, its battery is not too good, though the 4G comes with 12hr batt, supposedly. 2ndly, the bundled earphones are simply trash. Other than these 2, I cant find any faults with such a wonder player. Perhaps the ipod is meant for people of normal intelligence or those who actually lives in the city.

Anyway, the ipod is such a fashion statement, even LV,Christian Dior and other top brands have made special ipod pouches to complement the ipods. Will they do the same for the Zen Micro? or for their Muvo? I dun think they even know what/who is Creative in the first place. hahaaha

This sounds like its a repeated entry but as I am, i like to rant abt old stuff esp those which have been on my mind.

I lost my dreams, whatever they were. They were lost in the abyss of my mind which is pretty messed up. I dunno what were and what are my dreams/goals/aspirations are. I am floating aimlessly in the crowded hustle and bustle of everyday city life. I guess this is a same sad fact for many people.

I admire people who goes all out for their aspirations. I admire people like my poly senior who is now in Japan working in Koei. I honestly do not understand what made me to lose my dreams which is much the same as my senior. Working in Japan in a game company is probably most of my ex-classmates' dreams. To create wonderful game characters, animation. But what in reality now does not seem to tally.

What keeps me ticking now is the my future investment of a powermac G5 which is not exactly cheap. Guess I am tired of using a pc and windows where almost everynow and then I have to worry abt viruses, security threats in Windows, esp Internet Explorer where its havve prob another 1001 flaws which are hidden. But I guess I will still be keeping my PC which I added several stuff like a 16X TDK DVD Writer. That is the nicest thing abt my pc for now. haha

Oke guess my mood somehow brightens up abit. Here's a link which shows how many Americans like Bush. Its pretty good.

Went down in the scorching sun to Funan to check out the prices for the G5 which I am intending to get sometime next yr, hopefully I am not outta job by then. As expected the prices ARE higher than what I was quoted for for the same model in simlim. But I did catch a glimpse of the killer 30 inch Apple Cinema display. It is HUGE!. Imagine u typing away ur mails in such a screen, u'll need to wear shades man.

This 30 inch monster was displayed in Funan MI with a dualie 2.5Ghz Powermac on display too. Its kinda noisy considered it is liquid cooled. Anyway, the prices were not too encouraging, so back to simlim if I were to get my mac.

Today I saw how shallow a local company can get by coming up with this marketing strategy. It ought to be the greatest joke in the industry.

Creative, our home-grown pride and joy decided to take ipod users as pathetic pesants, thus they decided to let ipod users to trade in their ipods for the new creative zen micro. Is this an insult? Yes I certainly think so. No sane Ipod user will trade in their IPODs for something which resembles a plastic remote control toy.

If u take an ipod in one hand and one blardy muvo,zen or any music players from Creative in the other. Which will you prefer? If anyone chooses the latter, U are a peasant who noe nothing and it will be better if u go to hell.

This is the biggest joke in the industry!!!! to think Creative who claimed to be a leader in innovation will stoop so low to get pple to use their inferior products rather than to use a IPOD. Do they know what an IPOD is? Do they know why IPOD is so successful? they dunno honestly. the marketing team prob do not understand why IPOD is so successful. all Creative recent music players are deformed mutantic clones. They r not yet an ipod, never an ipod. Some people said in a forum that the marketing team prob want ipods so badly that they decided to come up with this idea to get free ipods. HAHAHAHAHA

The small compact Muvo is selling at ard $400, for abt $50 more, I can get something sexier and more appealing and definitely easier to use. If I add another $50+ more I can get a 20GB 4G ipod. Retail is $548.

Pls do not compare Ipods, ipod minis with those inferior xxxxx from Creative. They are more than a league apart.

Utterly disappointed in Creative to be so desperate and so uncreative.
