Book packing was hella mess on the 1st day. Students swarmed in like locusts tho i find that description a tad bit over exaggerating. hahaha..But it sure was messy. Believe it or not I actually met one of my ex poly classmate on the 1st day of book collection. Kinda surprised of cos but she said she did see me b4..just that i nv notice her. Unbelievably, I saw one of my sec sch classmate last evening and these both of my ex sch mates are studying Bachelor of IT. They have not changed much except for slimming down quite abit which is quite the opposite for me :P

Things were a whole lot better last evening, overall more orderly in a sense. I did suggest to my asst manager abt grouping up the students to collect their books on specific days instead of letting them to just come like that. Finally I was told 2 extra PCs will be coming for our usage. Just hope its not a prehistoric PII system or worse a Pentium or 486.

Dunno if this is good news or bad, i was actually shortlisted for a 2nd round of interview for the position of Information Analyst. I am rather bewildered as I knew I failed in the IQ section, possibly not too good in some other areas as well. And I really dunno what qns are they gonna bombard me with on that day. Worse, I could not get a full day off as the office is in dire needs of people til next Wed.

It has been a hectic week and nothing has improved in office. I cant believe that our office PCs are so well maintained. They are infested with worms virus n none of them are properly patched with the latest security updates. Our dedicated IT team are well, lecturers instead. Our email server has been programmed to take a brain freeze every 2-3 days on a random basis. Just wondered if one fine day, more than half of the office equipment failed. Are the pple there going to cry or what ?

Anyway, anyone heard the radio commercial of the TMC Diploma in IT done by Jamie Yeo ? It sounded so.......

My workplace is one of the forefathers of local private educational grps and so are her computer euipment. In the digital era where many companies and instituitions have gone digital ranging from e-filing to wireless networking enviroment, mine still runs e softwares on antique PII systems. Well e other office had just gone wireless, to my utmost suprise.

Our scheduling is done manually which is a slavery task for the poor schduler. Tho we did see e wonders of the software which can do all the schduling automatically with one click of a mouse, we or rather the department with the most promiment influence ( Finance ) still have the final say. Our PCs are crawling and is definitely bottlenecking our efficieny. Not only that, our PCs r certainly not the best maintained. Virus, worms and what-have-you lurks in the hdd, emails etc etc. We have limited storage space as old system can only support to a limited amt of hdd space.

Abt e-filing, one of the advantages is that we can save a great deal of space in the office. My office is like a warzone, none of the consultants' tables are neat. Almost all of them are cluttered with files, envelopes, more files and more files. Does this image mirror well on any prospect clients ? No it certainly does not. Floppies are EVERYWHERE, cos all of e files are backup on floppies.

Yes, u heard that right, FLOPPIES. We still survive on FLOPPIES, where the rest of e world have gone DVDs. We dun even have a CD-Writer.

It is no wonder we r getting lesser and lesser students each year.

This is prob e most outrageous selection tests/interviews i even been thru. Here is wat happened

There were 5 tests of which they were designed to test your IQ, common senses, awareness of what is going on in the world etc etc.

1) A personality test

2) A drawing test of which you have to complete 10 diagrams in 15 min. Of these 10 diagrams, you are to draw them WITHOUT lifting up ur pen. I could only complete 4.

3) Listening and summary writing tests - Listened to 5 news broadcasts and to summarise them in point form then later transfer them onto the answer sheets in 10 min with headlines.

4) Most interesting of all and listen good, its a MALAY DICTATION test ! Yes Malay ! You have to listen to a Malay passage and to write them down.

5 ) Essay test - A no. of topics for u to choose and write a short eassay of 250 words in 30 min. I complete it in 15.

And I thot the tests which i went thru with my current company last year was dumb. Im making a moutain outta a molehill !!!!!!

Oh I have to wait 1 month if they decide to call me. Im wondering, are they paying me 3K per month or what ? What's with those stupid tests ? Its juz a info analyst position !

As the news have reported, Singapore has e historic low record of birth rates in 2002, which is the one of the worst years finanically n economically wise, much goes the same for year 2003 kudos to China for spreading SARS.

Expectedly, our dearest gahment will be on a "baby making" campaign. There will be a late night show on teaching couples how to fcuk, crudely said. But more on how to create the ideal enviroment for fcuking. Heres a quote from Dr Wee, e host of the "fcuking" show ---- "“Having sexual intercourse about two or three times a week is the key to conception. Having sex on a regular basis reduces the stress and anxiety of ‘saving for the moment’,” Dr Wee added.

The fact is most couples have sex abt once per month. The main reason for this is stress and a busy work schdule. I do wonder if this goes to the gahment heads ? Many a times, its not we Singaporeans dun like to fcuk, its we are too tired to do it. I dun care if u give me $500 a year subsidisation of dunno wat bull, honestly i/we/the young couples dun care ! What's a $500 a year ? $500 a year big fuck ? What baby bonuses ? Dun give me or rather e young couples baits n lures like giving candies to a baby to ask them to procreate ! Whats e point when most couples went home dead beat, all they want is a good dinner, shower and hit the sack.

E answer is stress n stress n stress, dear PAP. I forgot to mention abt the cut in cpf, 5% GST and what-have-you in the future. Most couples dun pocket over S$100K of income monthly. And dun use Chinese idioms saying if one fails to have children means one is not filial. How abt those couples who really cant conceive due to health reasons, are they unfilial too ?

Why not have the gahment to make regulations to have only a 5 day week work, better working hours and defintely, singaporeans will have more time to enjoy cuddling naked in beds.

2 of my seniors and excourse/classmates r now enjoying their life in Japan wif loads of porn on TV, in their shops etc etc, gals and high tech gadgets which u will/will not eventually find in backward Singapore in abt 5-8 years time ( think camera phones which is now e de facto standard in e rest of Asia besides Japan, Japan now uses mega pixeled cam/video phones btw)

Ever heard of HDTV ? Yes i believe most pple have heard of it but has anyone see how is a HDTV is like ? I juz happen to see one in Harvy Norman @ Funan. No, Singpore did not have a miracle historic leap in techology advancement but there is a display set with a HDTV signal converter showing e utterly stunning sharp imageries only in a HDTV. For those who think our local TVS r clear n sharp with those nonsense such as extra pixels and what-have-you, go see how FCUKING sharp a HDTV image is. A good example is for those who are used to seeing a 800 x 600 or below resolution monitor screen, are now seeing at a resolution at 1280 x 1024 and above. One word, stunning.

Yes Japan since many years ago uses fibre optics for their internet connections, thus they can achieve speeds which we, local backward people can dream of. Speeds like 45mbps which is like 9 times faster than e fastest speed we can find here from Starhub maxonline - 3mbps which they use 3000 kbps which is again theortically 6 times faster than "dedicated broadband" 512kbps access by other providers. Oh 45mbps is only half e max speed in Jpn, they have plans for 100mbps for home users which is equalivent to a LAN network speed.

i have an interview for a position of an Information Analysts at Mindef next Tues. E interview is from 1.30-4.45pm which is all abt testing me on how well i can process information. Sounds tough...

Oh vain me went to Gorgeous Hair Studio to cut my hair last afternoon. My hair was getting long, messy and heavy on the sides, so under persuasion from my gf, i decided to make an appt and had my hair cut there. For those who dunno, Gorgeous is popular among artistes,DJs etc etc...Clara and Tony who r the bosses there used to be from REDs. They had over 16 years of hair styling experience. I got my hair done by Clara.

My appt was at 4 but i reached at abt 3, so i waited there seating on the couch for almost an hour, looking thru hair catalogues and observing how Tony n Clara cut. Its very impressive to see them how they snipped off layers n layers of hair so professionally, so clean, confident and swift. I had wanted to be a hairstylist and makeup artiste b4. No doubt if i got the money n chance, I will wanna learn such skills. And i certainly wondering why most professional hair stylist and makeup artistes are so "feminine" Well the same thing goes for fashion designers.

Anyway, i got my hair layered at the middle while the sides were snipped off, not totally shaved off. I find shaving off e sides a easy way of getting rid of hair. Finally this time it was not, as mostly were cut and not shaved. There was abit of shaving, mainly to tidy up e sides. And yes, my sideburns were left almost intact insted of being nearly totally shaved off at the previous salon where i cut my hair when i did mention beforehand i want my sideburns intact !

Clara used a hair mud to style my hair, somehow i find it better than wax. She mentioned i need to use a dry kinda wax or mud to get e effect.

My right thumb has been twitching very often and somehow affecting the way i work. Arggh. Anyway one has the same problem ?

For those rare people who gave up seats to elderly people and pregnant mothers, i wonder how many of them sincerely do that ? Is it for show saying im different cos im considerate or am i truely sincerely being helpful ?

Opps thinking too much.

Last year was the SARs epidemic, now is the bird flu. So what is next ? It seemed like Mother Nature is unleashing her wrath on humans who repeatedly destroyed nature. Just note that the SARS virus originate from wild animals, same thing with AIDS and Ebola viruses. Oh forgot to mention, SARS come from Guangzhou, China where the mainland Chinese never report truthfully when it 1st broke out thus leading to a world-wide epidemic and a world-wide ( at least Asia ) financial crisis. WHO had reported that China was slow n lethargic in her response to the bird flu, just like it did with SARS. It was only until world wide pressure then China hastened her speed in the right procedures to curb the disease.

Dear China I love u so much for spreading diseases and send ur people to Sillypore to snatch our jobs n trying to make Sillypore into Little China, now our schools r filled with ur Beijing accented sch kids, soon our children will speak like China kids, Mandarin will tke over English as e main tool of communication becos there r simply too many Chi-na people here.

Can ur fucking people go back and repair ur great wall or something ? Build a Great Wall II perphaps ?

Yes and i love Sunny Ho, City HArv$t, Jack Neo.

My old pc power unit went kaput on Wed, luckily the internal pc hardware were not damaged.

Bought my new pc parts on a Sat wif my mum at simlim. Total cost is $820 wif a P4 2.8ghz C with HT, 512 MB DDR RAM, a 80GB HDD and a casing. I was intending to get a P4 2.6 but on that day, the price of the 2.8 dropped to the price of the 2.6 !!! Of cos i get the 2.8 lah ! My mum as usual was skeptical abt the price that was quoted to us at The Hardware Place (6th floor, simlim square) then the lady there challenged us if we could find a better price than hers.

We did of cos, and indeed her price was e lowest there, at least on the top floor. haha..The most absurb price was $998. $998 !!!!!!!! I can jolly well get quite a full and relatively high end system wif this price. Oh yeah, one dishonest shop called Media Pro was selling a 80GB IDE harddisk at $153. Do u noe that wif this price i can get a 120GB SATA (serial ATA, which is faster) harddisk oredi ??

Anyway, we got everything home and my friend helped me to setup the pc. I was worrying abt if my "old" professional 3D card was not compatible wif the new system mother board. But technically wise as according to the specs i found, the card should be compatible. I was so worried when we boot up e system for the 1st time, my video card cld not be detected !!!!!!!!!!! We off and off e system a few times until we decided to remove the casing and refix e card. Fortunately, it worked.

I dunno why PC have to be comprised of so many different hardware. It juz make things more complicated, dun they ?
