This yr's Star Awards held at St James is one of the worst ever. I thought St James is some posh club, turned out to be one (IMO), small cramped and rather run down place. I was shocked to see how blardy cramped the place is. The poor artistes were sitting on some kopitiam chairs covered with some cloth with their names on it. And they were sitting almost shoulder to shoulder. The place is honestly rather run down.
Not to say some of the artistes' clothes were like shit. Look at Constance Song Yifei! wah lao wtf was that?? Badly drawn eyelines with awfully long fake eyelashes and some punk not punk jacket n leather boots. Constance is one of the better looking in MC leh, I think she is very much underrated like Priscilla Chan. Is Chen Hanwei the image 'consultant' again? The last he did I think was in 1997, where the artistes were all donning some awfully colored hair strip with hideous makeup and almost were in leather jackets.
Ann Kwok's hair is..........her makeup is also............Fiona Xie is............Anyway I think the best looking female is Peggy Hou. She looked so dainty n sweet n elegant with that little black dress. Xuanxuan also looked not bad. Angie Zhao Ya Zhi looked glamourous for her age. Big winners are Bryan Wong, Chen Wei Lian I guess. I dunno why lj show like Xing Shan Shan can bag the best drama award. Just a lj show with some sweet blind damsel in distress and a guy who cld hardly speak Mandarin. Measures of Men and CID, both are excellent dramas and they got nothing. Another thing is Ivy Lee got the best actress award for her role in Fa ting qiao jia ren...wtf is that? That is another lousy show leh! stupid ending, stupid plot...Somehow I think they are biased. Yes Ivy Lee can act well but her role in that drama is nothing to speak abt. I like Ivy more than Fann but I feel Fann acted much better in Zhi Zhun Hong Yan.
The more hearwarming thing is to see Mavis Hee getting better. And I think there are a few awkard silences when the guests were speaking on stage. Some were really unprepared...
Anyway, this yr's Star Award is disappointing.
