Personally,I find it so embarassing that I hardly know my neighbours at all esp those who live further away from my flat or even more so those who are living NOT that far. There were a few occassions where I took the lift and this couple or whover came into the same lift. When I asked them on which storey do they live in, then I realised they are living on the same floor as I am. Im not sure about how they felt but to me it's quite a shame cos I have been living here since 1998 and I hardly seem to even know their faces well enough.

I often envy how close neighbours were during my parents' and grandparents' times. During CNY, dishes, red packets and well wishes will be exchanged sincerely. People were warm and friendly. Now it is like everyone is cooped up in their little flat, doors closed, windows shut. The only verbal contact will be a "Aunty,Uncle' IF u see them walk by or if u happen to see them.
